SNH Advice on Coastal & Marine National Parks
In July 2005, SNH was requested by the Minister for the Environment and Rural Affairs to provide advice on the:
- aims, powers and governance structure which would be appropriate for a National Park Authority and its likely running costs;
- area or areas Ministers should consider as leading candidates for designation.
Following extensive stakeholder engagement and debate, this advice was submitted
to Scottish Ministers on 31st March 2006.
