Recreation and Access
Scotland’s outdoors, extending from the open spaces in our towns to the remote and wild areas of land and water in the Highlands, provides great opportunities for open-air recreation, enjoyment and education. Scotland has outstanding natural beauty and a strong tradition of access. There is now also legislation giving statutory rights to establish greater freedom for people to enjoy the countryside.
